The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a nationally recognized measure of participation in an approved non-credit differs from the traditional academic learning experience and has become vital as a means of determining the value.

One Continuing Education Unit (1.0) is defined as ten (10) contact hours of participation in an organized continuing and qualified instruction.

CEU approval for In-District Professional Development

All CEU approval requests must be submitted at least 14 days prior to the first day of the training. All of the following must be submitted in order for a program to be approved:

  • Program Information Sheet

  • Program Agenda (we cannot approve a program which is less than five contact hours)

  • Instructor vitas or resumes

  • Evaluation instrument tat will be used (only if using one that is different from the EMCED evaluation)

  • Pertinent program materials (brochure, syllabus, website address, etc.)

Things to remember:

  • We cannot approve a program that is less than five (5) contact hours.

  • All courses approvals are good for only the approved dates

  • Completed CEU approval request forms will be reviewed for approval prior to event.

Steps to take during/after the training . . . .

The following items need to be completed during the program and sent to us in order for participants to receive credit:

  • a copy of the participant sign in form

  • a copy of all program evaluations forms

  • Providing participant with CEU instruction sheet
